Alaric with Sara and Ari

We are heartbroken to share that our beloved friend, colleague, and Women in AI Ethics advisor, Alaric Aloor unexpectedly passed away over the weekend. Alaric served on the WAIE Board of Advisors since our early days. He was a fierce ally and advocate for diversity and ethics in AI.

Alaric’s special gift was making every one of us feel seen and valued. He always made time for others, he reminded us of our self-worth, guided us through challenging times, and boosted our confidence when the problems seemed insurmountable. He was a bright light and a generous spirit who was taken away from us far too soon. His legacy will continue through his work and all the lives he touched during his short but impactful life.

Our deepest condolences to his wife Sara, son Ari, his extended family, and his community. May he rest in peace.
